The 1st round of the Dorset and Wilts plate was played on Saturday with the current holders Calne going down to surprise defeat at the newly formed Amesbury RFC with the hosts winning 39-19. In the other match Dorset sides Poole and Puddletown met with the latter recording a 63-7 win on the road.
