As part of Colerne RFC's commitment to improving the infrastructure at the club a further verti drain de-compaction of the pitch has been carried out today by Ecosolve who are an RFU approved pitch maintenance contractor who also maintain the Rec and Farleigh House for Bath Rugby.
At the close of the season Ecosolve will be carrying out a major pitch refurbishment project for the club which will include a weed control and moss kill operation, a complete scarifying of the pitch, another de-compaction to be followed by a pitch over-seed and fertilization. This is a one season trial by the club at a cost of £2,500 to see if we can gain a substantial improvement in the playing surface. At the end of the 19/20 season we will review the success or otherwise of the operation to plan for the following season. The club would like to thank the volunteer grounds maintenance team of Tony Adams, John Hutchinson and Eddie Gardiner whose hard work will not be lessened by the above.
