COLERNE RFC NEW CHANGING ROOMS OFFICIALLY OPENED ON 19TH AUGUST 2018

Colerne RFC

CURRENT FUND RAISING TARGET £115,000 FOR THE CHANGING ROOMS

Our plan is to provide a modern purpose built block facility that will last for 75 years without the need of major annual maintenance. It will provide changing rooms, showers and toilets for 2 teams with separate match officials facilities together with stores and a self contained area for the children’s section of the club. This new facility will include a disabled person’s toilet and it complies with all the guidance notes for the construction of new changing blocks issued by the RFU. Full planning permission has been granted by the local Authority and building control drawings have been submitted.

The current changing facilities are no longer fit for purpose. Over the years they have been maintained as best as possible but this is no longer a viable financial option. The long term benefit to the local community and it's out lying villages will be the provision of a purpose built facility, to modern standards, that for the first time will include a separate area for the children to use as changing and an indoor training/lecture area. These new facilities will enable the club to offer a much improved experience for both adults and children allowing it to attract greater numbers from both the civilian and military members of the surrounding communities.

The project has gone to competitive tender with 3 bidders and a preferred contractor has been selected. Demolition of the existing changing rooms and then new build is scheduled to commence in Feb 2018 and complete in July 2018. The total tender cost is £115,446 of which a total of £93,000 has been raised to date leaving £23,000 to secure over the next 6 months. You can view below what we plan to build and if you can join our "buy a brick " campaign this will help us greatly in reaching our fund raising target.
