This morning at a presentation held at Network Rail's offices at Milford House in Swindon the staff made a gift of a portable heart defibrillator to be used by Colerne RFC. The staff have been raising funds for the past year in memory of their former colleague Paul McQuillan who died of a heart attack last season whilst playing for Melksham at Marlborough. The Rail staff had set out to raise enough funds to purchase one portable defibrillator however they were so successful that they raised enough to purchase two. As Paul was a former playing member at Colerne, starting off as a 17 year old, Paul's family who were in attendance at today's presentation decided that one should be donated to us. This marvelous gesture means the club is able to respond quickly in the case of heart failure and it gives the village a second machine.
